The Kinky Hole

After having lunch with a friend I had to take care of some buisness over at Kinkos. This particular one has a little creek that runs right next to the building. I was making some copies and when I was done I just sat at the window overlooking the creek for a few minutes and noticed some trout feeding along with a few gold fish here and there. I decided what the hell I went to the house about 5 minutes away and grabbed my lil 3 wt and was off. With traffic wizzing by and a few strange looks from motorists trapped in the traffic I careened my way down the embankment next to the busy street and parked myself on a little ledge just downstream from this nice pool. Within the first couple casts FISH ON!!! a decent size 12-13 inch brown came splashing toward me. This continued on for the next hour landing some half dozen out of the same hole. I had spotted this little gem a couple years back but had not fished it until now. Just a few hundred yards below this area there is a huge pond area tucked into a residential neighborhood. From what a passerby had told me this area gets loaded with fish and when the water becomes lower the fish will hunker in the pond. Think I might be crossing the street and heading down in a couple months to check the situation. Just goes to show ya that within a bubble of traffic, people scurrying around, and buildings there are little hidden gems waiting to be discovered.
